The flower arrangement found in the Sanctuary this morning is in honor of David Shaw’s birthday from his girls.

The Flame of Hope and Remembrance is lit this morning in loving memory of Jim Riddles from the Shaw family.

 

 

 

 

 

If you have a prayer request or prayer concerns please fill out a "Prayer Request" card found in the folder in each pew or call and inform the church office. Place the card in the Offering plate when passed or in the wooden basket at the Welcome Center.

Something special for children!! All children are invited to pick up a "Kid’s Bucket" in the Narthex. After the service please return the bucket to the tree.

VIM Pantry: The Pantry is open to help those in need with food every Tuesday and Friday morning from 9 – noon. Anyone in the Mid-Del area can qualify for help. A special offering will be taken for this ministry each 5th Sunday during the year.

Samaritan Fund: Your second mile of giving to this fund will help the church bless those in the community who are in need of financial help.

Outreach Committee: The committee has developed a cup to promote our church and to be enjoyed by our members and visitors. Each cup will require a donation of $8.00 or more. Stop by the north end of the Welcome Center to purchase your own cup. Funds will be used to promote our church and encourage visitors to join our church family.

7/13/08 Onion Burger/Undies Sunday: On Sunday, July 13th the Volunteers in Missions will host an Onion Fried Hamburger luncheon. We will begin serving lunch after the Sunday School hour. In addition to onion - burgers, we will serve hotdogs and plain hamburgers for those who would prefer one of these items. In support of Skyline’s Back to School program, we would appreciate a donation of a package of children’s underwear, a package of children’s socks, or a monetary donation. Please join us for the good food and fellowship.

VBS - God’s Big Backyard July 14 – 18: The Children’s Council is recruiting volunteers to help make this Vacation Bible School the best one yet!! Please contact Mikki Moore or Alana Edds to volunteer to help or with your questions or concerns.

Maps needed for VBS: The craft site of "God’s Big Backyard" is asking for donations of maps you no longer need or use. The children will use them in a craft to be made on one of the VBS nights. Please bring them to the church office, thanks for your help.

T-Shirt Funds for VBS: The Children’s Council is asking for donations to purchase t-shirts for every little or big angel attending our VBS this year. If you would like to contribute to this effort please use an envelope in the folder in the pews and mark it for VBS t-shirts. Thank you for your support.

Care Team Seminar: "Planning the Road Ahead" is the theme for a series of free seminars being offered by the Care Team. The second seminar in this series is titled "Home Health Care and Senior Services." It is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22 at 2:00 pm in Compton Hall. Physical Therapist, Karen Riley will lead the discussion.

UMM scholarship applications are now available at the Welcome Center. If you are interested in applying for one of the two scholarships, please fill out an application and place it in the UMM mail box in the Work room behind the Welcome Center. Deadline for completed applications is July 28.

UMW Hands on Project: The UMW will continue to gather supplies and encourages all church members to participate. You may bring your donated items to the Welcome Center desk. Please mark the sack – UMW Hands On Project. Here are some of the products we are collecting:
