The skies have opened and the wonderful rain has fallen to earth.

The flowers and grass have devoured the water with heartfelt mirth.

Dog days of summer seem much like a dream.

For now the gift from God has filled many a thirsty stream.

How beautiful the green of the grass and flowers to behold.

We’ll praise God and enjoy them before it gets cold.

We’re in awe each day of God’s marvelous plan.

Each season of the year is meant for every woman and man.

God has answered our prayers for the rain and the cool relief it has brought.

Let’s not forget to give our thanks for the rain we prayerfully sought.
