Hey there! Welcome to our little corner of the internet.

If you've landed here, you might be curious about who we are, what we're about, or maybe you're just scrolling through while your kid naps or during your lunch break. Either way, we're glad you're here.

Who We Are

We're Sunny Lane United Methodist Church, right here in Del City. We're your neighbors—the ones with kids on baseball teams, shopping at the Walmart at 15th and Sooner, maybe working alongside you at Tinker or grabbing coffee at White Buffalo. We're a bunch of regular people trying to figure out what it means to follow Jesus in 2025, and honestly? Some days we're better at it than others.

Our church reflects our community. We're diverse, we're real, and we're not trying to be something we're not. Single parents, military families, folks working two jobs, people questioning their faith, people rediscovering it—we've got room for all of it.

What We're About

Here's the thing: we believe faith should actually matter in everyday life. Not just on Sunday mornings, but when you're deciding how to treat that difficult coworker, when you're wondering how to make ends meet, or when you're trying to raise kids with kindness in a world that doesn't always model it.

We've distilled our vision down to three things:

  • Imitating Christ – Trying to live with the compassion, courage, and authenticity Jesus showed

  • Cultivating Transformation – Working to make Del City a better place for everyone

  • Embracing All – Creating space where every person's worth is recognized and celebrated

Notice we said "trying" and "working"? That's intentional. We're a work in progress, not a finished product.

What to Expect

This blog is a space where we share what's happening at Sunny Lane, explore questions about faith and life, and hopefully start some good conversations. We won't pretend to have all the answers—because we don't. But we believe in wrestling with the big questions together.

You'll find stories from our community, reflections on scripture that connect to real life, updates on how we're serving Del City, and probably some posts about why grace matters more than perfection (a lesson we're constantly relearning).

Come As You Are

If you've been burned by church before, we get it. If you're not sure you even believe in God, that's okay too. If you're looking for a community that values questions as much as answers, diversity as much as unity, and action as much as prayer—you might find something here worth exploring.

We're not perfect. Our building isn't fancy. Our coffee is strong but not artisanal. What we do have is a genuine desire to live out love in practical ways and a commitment to making space for everyone at the table.

So stick around. Read along. And if you ever want to visit in person, we'd love to meet you.

Sunny Lane UMC is a pathway of hope striving to live like Jesus, cultivate transformation in our community, and embrace all with God's grace.
